Tailored Research Ethics Training and Certification for Community Partners
University of Pittsburgh researchers have developed the Community Partners Research Ethics Training and Certification (CPRET) to ensure community partners involved in human subjects research understand how to conduct ethical and safe research. This IRB-approved training provides a comprehensive overview of research ethics, including the purpose of research, specific case scenarios, the history of research ethics, IRB regulations, and rules of research conduct. CPRET aims to strengthen community-based participatory research (CBPR) partnerships by tailoring training to the needs and ethical issues relevant to each research protocol.
Description
CPRET is designed for community partners actively involved in human subjects research. The training is tailored to address the specific ethical issues and needs of each research protocol, and it is intended to be led by the principal investigator. The training covers essential topics such as the introduction to research, understanding research ethics, the history of research ethics principles, IRB regulations, and definitions and rules of research conduct. This structured approach ensures that community partners are well-equipped to conduct ethical research.Applications
