This invention is a newly developed software that details a statistical algorithm able to track a series of markers throughout time, label missing markers in any frame from any available unlabeled markers and fill in gaps in an optimal way. This algorithm can be applied to any marker data, not only hand marker data.The algorithm of this software requires the user to manually label a few frames at the beginning and end of the data stream, to serve as a seed. It then uses a two-pass kalman filter to obtain an estimate of each marker's position at every frame. If a marker is missing, the algorithm tries to match it with all available unlabeled markers. If no match is found, the algorithm's estimate of the marker's location is used instead. Using a two-pass kalman filter means that the data is processed both in the forward (forward in time) and backwards direction. The forward and backwards estimates of the marker positions are then combined in an optimal way, to generate the final output.IP Status
